| "Nothing would please me more than to know that there is an ever-expanding group of individuals who are working together each in their own way to improve the quality of life for all the life here on Spaceship Earth. That is what the music is about, that is what my life is about and that is what the Windstar Foundation is about. The Windstar Foundation contends that there is a level of reality on this planet and in the universe where suffering does not exist. The experience of this reality comes thru a transformation of consciousness on both the individual and collective levels. The Windstar Foundation has been created to foster, and participate in, those projects which provide a context for this transformation to occur, whether it be individual, social, political, or environmental. Over the past few years, we have supported the following organizations: The Cousteau Society The Wilderness Society est Friends of the Earth Save the Children World Wildlife Fund Friends for All Children The Alaska Coalition Alaska Wilderness Preservation Simpatico U.S. Skiers Educational Fund Environmental Policy Center Presidential Commission on Hunger New Earth Exposition The American Indian Heritage Environmental Defense Fund Fund for Animals Sierra Club Environmental Action In so doing, I have become aware that all of these organizations are in a sense related in their purposes, i.e. cleaning up the world to make it a better place to live. I would really like to invite you to look inside yourself to find those things that make you unique in the universe and to see if you arenb.t willing to share yourself, knowing that you can make an incredible contribution to all the life around you. In this manner, you can direct your energy toward one of this situations, perhaps within the framework of one of these organizations and really join me in taking individual responsibility for making our world a better place to live and a freer and safer place within which to realize ourselves and our oneness in the universe. Peace, John Denver" |
